Why Lanarkshire Catering School?


Lanarkshire Catering School was established in January 1990 and quickly became one of Scotland’s leading centres in the delivery of “City & Guilds Craft Qualifications” for the Catering Industry.

The school prides itself on it’s high standards of teaching and it’s flexible learning environment. The involvment of employers from industry ensures that the courses are relevant and are aimed at employment.

We welcome students from a variety of backgrounds and operate a selection of flexible entry requirements for most courses. Each year we help students to create a better future for themselves by furthering their career prospects through education.

All courses contain practical and knowledge based units which are delivered within the schools training and commercial kitchens.

Modern Apprenticeships / NVQs


Modern Apprenticeships (MAs) offer those over 16 paid employment, along with the opportunity to train for jobs at craft and supervisory level.

They are an excellent way to obtain skills and National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) to help further your chosen career, without having to study full time. More information...
